The Blend Finder

Name a pipe tobacco or a cigar you enjoy. The Finder breaks it into elements of the tables and shows others built from the same leaf.

  1. 1
Scan the poster. The QR code on the Sponsor Edition opens the Finder at the shop where it hangs.
  2. 2
Name what you like. A blend, a cigar, or a plain description such as “Connecticut shade robusto”.
  3. 3
See what else fits. Matches share elements on the table. Tasting words are the maker’s or retailer’s own, quoted and labeled as theirs.
  4. 4
Find it nearby. Enter a ZIP code to see participating shops and which picks each one stocks.

The Finder’s shop list is sample data for now. Matching compares published components; it does not rate quality or strength.

How the tables are made

Every element, cited

Published sources only

Each element rests on a maker’s, retailer’s, government or trade-press source, listed on the poster’s Source Register.

NR means not rated

Where no published measurement exists, the tile says NR rather than guessing.

Tasting words stay attributed

The posters carry no tasting notes. In the Finder, every tasting word is quoted from the maker or retailer and labeled as theirs.

Open items in the open

Where sources disagree, the Source Register says so and the poster shows only the uncontested figure.
